The Staten Island Yankees, owners of the worst record in the NY-Penn League at (16-39) were officially eliminated from the 2012 NY-Penn League playoff picture, with their 3-2 loss at Vermont, Thursday, August 16, 2012. Staten Island has the dubious distinction of being the first team in the league to be eliminated in 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!
