The Connecticut Tigers used a three run seventh inning to put away the Staten Island Yankees 5-2 on Tuesday night, at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT. It was the Tigers fourth straight win, as they improve to a record of (22-26), 13.5 games behind Stedler Division runaways Tri-City. Staten Island falls to (15-32), which is the worst record in the NY-Penn League. Jared Reaves hit his 2nd homer of the year, in the bottom of the first. Pitcher Joe Rogers (1-1) got the win for the Tigers, with Matt Davenport gaining his second save (Davenport struck out every batter he faced, in his two innings.) Charles Haslup (0-1) took the loss for Staten Island. The two teams play game two of the three game series Wednesday at 7PM.
